What should I wear?

No trainers, no sandals, open-toed, or slip-on shoes. No shorts or skirts – legs must be fully covered

What to Wear:

Tops: Long-sleeved tops, sweatshirts, or a fastened jacket are ideal for riding. In warmer weather, t-shirts are acceptable, but we prefer tops that cover your shoulders

Bottoms: Wear jodhpurs or strong trousers. Avoid trousers with seams on the inside leg, as these can cause discomfort in the saddle

Footwear: Boots are the preferred choice. They should have a smooth sole and a small heel (at least ½ inch) for safety

What is your minimum age?

We can take junior riders from the age of 4. Our Pony Club is from ages 6 - 16.

Do you have a weight limit?

Our weight limit for our horses is 12 stone (76kg), and our horse simulator can take up to 15 stone (95kg).

Do you provide riding hats?

Yes we have a range of hats in various sizes which meet current safety standards.

Do you provide boots?

Do you provide body protectors?

We do not have boots for loan, but recommend a boot with a smooth sole and a small heel, wellies are suitable for the short term but if you plan to continue riding we advise buying a pair of suitable riding boots.

We do not supply body protectors and do not require customers to wear body protectors for our sessions. If you wish to wear one they must meet current safety standards and we advise that they are fitted by a trained professional. Local to us you can be fitted at Serpells and Redpost Equestrian.

What happens in bad weather?

We have an indoor school which can be used in all weathers. However if the rain is not too heavy, or wind too high we endeavour to continue coaching outside where possible so please ensure you have a raincoat with you if it is raining.
