What should I wear?

No trainers, no sandals, open-toed, or slip-on shoes. No shorts or skirts – legs must be fully covered

What to Wear:

Tops: Long-sleeved tops, sweatshirts, or a fastened jacket are ideal for riding. In warmer weather, t-shirts are acceptable, but we prefer tops that cover your shoulders

Bottoms: Wear jodhpurs or strong trousers. Avoid trousers with seams on the inside leg, as these can cause discomfort in the saddle

Footwear: Boots are the preferred choice. They should have a smooth sole and a small heel (at least ½ inch) for safety

What is your minimum age?

We can take junior riders from the age of 4. Our Pony Club is from ages 6 - 16.

Do you have a weight limit?

Our weight limit for our horses is 12 stone (76kg), and our horse simulator can take up to 15 stone (95kg).

Do you provide riding hats?

Yes we have a range of hats in various sizes which meet current safety standards.

Do you provide boots?

Do you provide body protectors?

We do not have boots for loan, but recommend a boot with a smooth sole and a small heel, wellies are suitable for the short term but if you plan to continue riding we advise buying a pair of suitable riding boots.

We do not supply body protectors and do not require customers to wear body protectors for our sessions. If you wish to wear one they must meet current safety standards and we advise that they are fitted by a trained professional. Local to us you can be fitted at Serpells and Redpost Equestrian.

What happens in bad weather?

We have an indoor school which can be used in all weathers. However if the rain is not too heavy, or wind too high we continue coaching outside where possible and often have multiple sessions running at the same time so please ensure you have a raincoat with you if it is raining.

That depends on your aim and experience but don’t worry, we’ll help you find the right fit! Here’s a quick guide to get you started:

What session should I book?

Can my child join Pony Club / how do they join?

Absolutely, here’s how it works:

Our Pony Club is open to riders of varying ages and experience levels. To join, simply get in touch with us expressing your interest. Our Pony Club is very busy and we don’t always have spaces for new members but will get your child in as soon as we have spaces available.

Once we have space your child can attend a taster session before joining the Pony Club. To become a full Pony Club member sign your child up with a CENTRE membership here: Join Now | The Pony Club UK

Once enrolled, your child can take part in Pony Club days, practical skills sessions, theory, stable management, and fun activity events.

Pony Club runs alongside or in addition to our regular coaching — members may also join regular riding sessions as suitable.

Can I join the adults’ group?

Yes — whatever your ability there’s a place for you in our adult group sessions. Our coaches work with each rider on their individual goals within the group setting, and it’s a great way to learn from other riders at the same time. To book a session and see what’s available click here.

All of our upcoming availability is shown on our booking system — if you can’t see a space for the date you’re looking for, it’s likely that we’re fully booked.

Our evening and weekend sessions are our busiest times, and these do tend to book up a few weeks in advance. We’re so grateful for your patience, our diary fills quickly, but we’ll always do our best to get you booked in as soon as possible so do get in touch:

  • Check Facebook and Instagram for last minute session spaces as a result of cancellations.

  • Send us a message on Facebook. We’ll respond within 24hrs.

  • Call us directly on 01752 872807 during business hours.
